Meet Katie
We live in challenging times that require bold and collaborative leadership. That is why I am running to be your Kitsap County Commissioner. I care about Kitsap families. I have lived here for over 30 years raising my own family and having a career in Kitsap. I know how critical safety, affordable housing, good jobs, a clean environment, and recreational opportunities are to our community.
My 30+ years experience in non-profits and education has uniquely prepared me for this role. I offer a fresh perspective that will bring people, ideas, and solutions together to create positive change.
I am currently the Executive Director of Leadership Kitsap. In addition to our signature adult civic leadership program, we host our community’s 20 Under 40 Awards Program and Kitsap Women’s Leadership Network. Modeling balanced representative leadership is important to me.
Previously I was the Marketing and Community Relations Director at Bainbridge Island Museum of Art and an Adjunct Professor at Olympic College. I recently served on the Board of Trustees for the Kitsap Regional Library. Communication, public outreach and input will be essential to managing Kitsap County’s future.
My family has lived throughout Kitsap: from Bainbridge Island to Port Orchard, from Poulsbo to Silverdale, and finally settling in Chico. My husband, a life-long resident of Kitsap County, is a fourth-generation shipyard employee. We have raised three sons within the Central Kitsap School District.
